    Abstract: The systems of energy in surgery are applied in order to achieve better and more effective performance of procedures. Various energetic sources, including electricity, ultrasound, laser and argon gas, have different fundamental principles. The gyneocologist must have the basic knowledge of the way an energy system works so as to provide a safe and effective treatment for patients. The advantages and shortcomings of different systems of energy have to be taken into account while we use a special mode. The successful application of devices would promote the safety of the surgical procedure.

    Abstract:.With the development of science and technology, the modern medical treatment mode has developed rapidly. Minimally invasive surgery is the historical trend, which is represented by laparoscopic surgery. Evolution and application of energy devices have made the surgeries more simple, the scope larger and the operation more accurate. The laparoscopic surgeons meet unprecedented opportunities and challenges than before. Our review briefly introduces the principle of common energy equipment, including the main advantages and disadvantages, indications, lateral temperature spread and attentions in use. We hope it can help the surgeons to understand their tools and use it correctly, avoiding complications.

    Abstract:Laser can be used for incision and hemostasis because of its typical organizational effect,and also can be used for biotic tissues stimulus with specified physiotherapy effect. There are two kinds of energy of laser frequently used in gynecological operation: holmium laser can be used for lesion resection and ablation under the physiological saline hysteroscopes, and carbon dioxide laser can be used for incision and hemostasis during laparoscopic operations.Since the laser has advantages of pinpoint, shallow vertical injuries and narrow side injuries, it can generally be used in gynecological pelvic operations.

    Abstract:Ultrasonic scalpel is one of the most widely-used energy equipment in the laparoscopic surgery for gynecological oncology. The principle is to transform the electric power into mechanical longitudinal movement, and through vibration and friction of the blade thermal power is produced and acted on the tissues. Ultrasonic scalpel has the function of coagulation and cutting at the same time,with the advantage of low temperature of blade, slight lateral thermal tissue damage and absence of electrical stimulation. Additionally, in laparoscopic surgery for gynecological malignant tumor, the ultrasonic scalpel is safe and can reduce postoperative complications. Treatments and preventions of the ureter or bowel damage caused by ultrasonic scalpels are still in accordance with the principles of thermal injury.

    Abstract: Electrocoagulation leads to the cell water evaporation, effectively controlling hemorrhage. “Five marks” on distal abdominal aorta, “two regions”, “two bounds”, “three layers” and “six structures” provide guidance and direction for application of pelvic and celiac lymphadenectomy by monopolar electrotome. The three-level blood supply of ureter can avoid thermal damage anatomically.

    Abstract: Since electric fibroid morcellators have been applied clinically, more and more patients got benefit from laparoscopic surgeries when taking myomectomy and hysterectomy. However, with the accumulation of clinical experience, some complications related to fibroid morcellators, such as direct injury to adjacent organs, dissemination of benign tissue and even potentially malignant tissue in the abdomen and pelvis, have aroused public concern. When using fibroid morcelltors during surgery, clinicians should recognize the potential adverse effects and take appropriate preventive measures.

    Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to discuss the surgical techniques of electric surgical instruments with robot-assisted laparoscopic surgical system and the prevention of side injury.The electric surgical instruments of da Vinci surgical systems are monopolar cautery instruments,biolar cautery instruments,ultrasonic energy instrument and vessel sealer. The working principle of energy equipment of da Vinci surgical system is same with laparoscopy,but the electric surgical instruments of da Vinci surgical system has specific instructions, including full cautions and warnings.Being familiar with anatomy, gentle movements, mastering the principle of the equipment and the surgical techniques are important to the successful operation,which can reduce the incidence of side injury.

    Abstract: The power devices are widely used in hysteroscopic operation, including high frequency electrotome monopolar, bipolar, plasma, radiofrequency and so on, which can cause cutting and coagulation due to the thermal effects. The power devices can make the operation simple, but also can cause some side injuries. This article discusses the power devices' s operating principle, its side injuries and how to deal with injuries, the application technique of power devices and how to avoid the side injuries.
