Abstract: As a chronic inflammatory and destructive disease involving supporting periodontal tissue，periodontitis is the major cause of tooth loss in adults. The management of severe periodontitis with malocclusion and dentition defect is complex，requiring a series of different treatment procedures. Clinical outcomes will be satisfactory on the condition that dentists who masters multidisciplinary theory strictly control the timing and criteria of different treatment stages and finally restore oral health and improve function and esthetics. This article shows the multidisciplinary diagnosis and treatment procedures of a case of stage Ⅲ grade C periodontitis. The patient regained periodontal health with inflammation eliminated after initial periodontal therapy，ideal malocclusion through orthodontic treatment and oral function rehabilitated by implant therapy，which is expected to provide experience for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of severe periodontitis.
