Abstract    Nowadays，the technologic feasibility of laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenal（LPD）resection is unquestionable with the advantages of less trauma and less bleeding than traditional resection，but the impact on the long-term efficacy after LPD is still under debating.The occurrence of surgical complications during the learning curve are higher than those of open surgery.Apart from this，due to the technical complexity of LPD and the requirements for the experience and equipment of the surgeon，the current international professional society recommends that LPD should be performed only by experienced specialists in the center with large volume of cases，and is not recommended for difficult cases，such as cases who need vascular reconstruction.In the view of technologic，LPD can be described as the "Everest" of minimally invasive pancreatic surgery，and we should have a sense of awe to overcome it.However，strict training，full preparation，accurately select suitable cases are must and step by step training and continuously management will benefit patients.
