Abstract: In the evolution of preoperative fine anatomical assessment, three-dimensional (3D) visualization technology has enabled a transition from two-dimensional imaging to dynamic stereoscopic modeling, allowing surgeons to intuitively comprehend patient-specific anatomy and conduct simulated surgical planning. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) has further automated and accurate vessel segmentation, structural recognition and surgical planning, significantly improving the efficiency and precision of preoperative evaluation while providing quantitative support for risk assessment and individualized decision-making. Moreover, extended reality (XR) technology, as an integrated manifestation of 3D visualization and AI, delivers precise anatomical information in immersive and interactive formats, playing an important role in surgical training, education and virtual preoperative planning. Despite ongoing challenges in data quality and model generalizability, advances in algorithm optimization and multi-source medical data sharing are expected to drive the deep integration of 3D visualization and AI, fostering the development of a precise and intelligent paradigm for preoperative evaluation in hepatectomy.
