Abstract    Renal hyperparathyroidism is a common complication in patients with chronic kidney disease. In September 2022, the American Society for Endocrine Surgery and the American Society for kidney disease published guidelines for the surgical management of secondary and tertiary hyperparathyroidism and proposed 50 recommendations on the etiology, clinical diagnosis, medical treatment, comparation of surgical treatment, and perioperative management of secondary and tertiary hyperparathyroidism, based on Evidence-based medical evidence, aiming to provide references for the standard surgical treatment of SHPT and THPT. Compared with Chinese expert consensus, the first international guideline provides detailed suggestions on the surgical principles of tertiary hyperparathyroidism.
