Abstract: Phages are extremely abundant life forms on earth and have made great contributions to human health since their discovery. The oral cavity is an important habitat for phages in the organism，and oral phage science is an important part of phage research in life sciences. With the in-depth study of phage and the development of related technologies，the application of phage in the field of dentistry has become more and more extensive，and it plays an important role in mechanism research，disease diagnosis，treatment and prevention of infection，and prognosis monitoring. The article analyzes the possibility and value of phage application in the field of dentistry，and introduces specific examples of phage therapy and phage display technology applied in the field of dentistry. Some recent research progresses are summarized to provide a reference for the subsequent phage use in the prevention，diagnosis and treatment of oral diseases.
