Abstract:

Subgingival scaling and root planing plays a pivotal role in  periodontal initial therapy. It is the process of removing or eliminating the etiologic agents，including dental plaque and its products，and calculus，which cause inflammation，thus helping to establish a periodontium that is free of disease. The complications，after scaling and root planing，include gingival bleeding，periodontal abscess，tooth hypersensitivity，mobility，fever and so on. Here we discuss the pathogenesis and treatment of  the complications after scaling and root planing.

摘要：

龈下刮治是牙周基础治疗的重要组成部分，是利用龈下刮治器械去除位于牙周袋内根面上的牙石、菌斑和病变牙骨质，消除致病因素，利于牙周组织的愈合。龈下刮治术后常见并发症有牙龈出血、牙周脓肿、根面敏感、牙齿松动和发热等。文章将具体论述这些并发症出现的可能原因及处理方法。
