Abstract: Alveolar ridge preservation after tooth extraction can reduce or even block the alveolar ridge absorption and soft tissue retraction that must occur during natural healing，and it is possible to avoid various complicated tissue augmentation techniques，which can provide good soft and hard tissue conditions for implanting. The application of alveolar ridge preservation technology has achieved good results，but in order to improve the success rate of using this technology in clinical practice，it is necessary to grasp the various influencing factors of alveolar ridge preservation. This article will review the factors affecting the effect of alveolar ridge preservation，in order to provide a theoretical reference for the clinical application of the technology to achieve the expected results.
