Abstract    Hernia mesh plays a very important role in the repair  of  parastomal hernia. How to correctly select and applicate mesh is the key point in the parastomal hernia repair. The Parameters and Properties of mesh include resistance and elasticity，surface mass  and pore size、the contraction of mesh  and  biocompatibility. The types of mesh available are synthetic，composite，and biological mesh. Surgeons should pay much attention to the  resistance and validity of mesh，and also the safety and reliability of parastomal hernia repair.
