Abstract    The incidence of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma（ICC）has been increasing in recent years，which has been paid more and more attention by people. World Health Organization，American Joint Committee on Cancer，National Comprehensive Cancer Network，and other institutions have published several different results of the typing and staging systems of ICC. Those systems are not uniform，but complementary and each has its own advantages. Typing systems are based on the growth pattern and microscopic features. They classify tumors by their origin and biological behavior，and provide possible directions for the future targeted therapy. Staging systems are based on the different prognosis of tumors with different phases. They evaluate tumors by imaging and pathological information，and suggest suitable treatment for tumors with different stages. A full understanding of the typing and staging systems is helpful in recognizing ICC，improving the ability of diagnosis and treatment，and clarifying the future research direction.
