Abstract    Gastrointestinal stromal tumor is the most common mesenchymal tumor in the gastrointestinal tract. The tyrosine kinase receptor inhibitor, imatinib mesylate, has been used for the standard treatment of advanced GIST, which has achieved remarkable results. Thus, GIST has become the most successful example of target therapy for solid tumors. With the improving recognition of GIST and the deepening of research, the focus issues in the field of comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of GIST are also emerging. The problems cover all aspects of GIST diagnosis, surgical treatment, drug therapy and transformation research. In the era of precision medicine, it is worth exploring that how to focus on the key points of GIST comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, to carry out standardized, individualized and precise clinical practice, and to design interdisciplinary cooperation and multi-center scientific research as well.
