Abstract: The oral health status of the Chinese population is poor，and the awareness of oral health knowledge is low. Therefore，the oral medical community has a very heavy task of strengthening oral hygiene education，popularizing the awareness of periodontal disease treatment and promoting regular maintenance of periodontal health among the public. Personalized oral hygiene education at the dental chair is the most effective approach and method for patients. It is necessary to provide basic education in oral hygiene for dental students. This paper reviews the course design and implementation of "oral hygiene education" in the undergraduates during clinical pre-practice internship in the Department of Periodontology，Peking University School of Stomatology. It summarizes the teaching experience and methods，which is aimed to provide guidance for improving the oral health education ability of domestic dental students and contribute to promoting the oral health of the public and strengthening the prevention of periodontal diseases.

摘要： 我国民众牙周状况较差，口腔健康知识知晓率低。因此，口腔医学界加强口腔卫生宣教，普及民众的牙周疾病诊治意识和促进定期维护牙周健康的任务非常繁重。临床工作中对患者进行椅旁个性化口腔卫生宣教是有效的途径和方法，针对口腔医学生进行口腔卫生宣教的启蒙教育十分必要。文章回顾北京大学口腔医学院牙周病学教研室在本科生临床前期实习中对“口腔卫生宣教”课程的设计历程和实施情况，总结授课经验和教学方法，以期为提高国内口腔医学生的口腔宣教能力提供指导，为促进民众的口腔卫生状况和加强牙周病的预防作出应有贡献。
