Abstract: Objective    To observe and analyze the effect of orthodontic treatment on patients with severe periodontal disease in anterior teeth. Methods    Twenty patients in our hospital with displaced anterior teeth as a result of severe periodontal disease were selected. They were treated with periodontal foundation treatment and orthodontic treatment. The treatment effect was summarized and analyzed. Results    Displaced anterior teeth were aligned and retracted after orthodontic treatment. The disorder space was closed. Overbite and overjet were normal. The teeth mobility was reduced. But the probing depth and the sulcular bleeding index weren’t improved. Conclusion    Palliative orthodontic treatment can be initiated when the patients refuse to pull out the teeth with severe periodontal disease. This method can improve occlusal function and aesthetic appearance of the patients with severe periodontal disease and delay the falling out of the teeth with severe periodontal disease in a certain time.
