Abstract: Soft tissue augmentation is a method for soft tissue reconstruction in periodontal tissue or peri-implant tissue. Currently in clinical practice，the coronally advanced flap（CAF），connective tissue graft（CTG）and free gingival graft（FGG）are the common therapies widely used. However，autologous soft tissue transplantation has several drawbacks，such as the presence of a secondary wound，prolonged surgical time and a high incidence of postoperative pain. The development of alternative materials has garnered widespread attention. Mucograft，a new type of xenogeneic collagen matrix material，has become a focus of recent research due to its advantages of reducing a second wound，shortening surgical time and decreasing postoperative pain. This review focuses on the research progress in Mucograft in peridontal soft tissue augomentation，aiming to discuss its advantages and challenges in clinical application.
