Abstract: Tooth loss in the aesthetic area of anterior teeth often affects patients′ pronunciation，chewing and aesthetics，and even leads to negative psychological emotions. In recent years，with the development of implant technology，surgeons pay more attention to how to adopt rapid and minimally invasive treatment methods to restore the function and aesthetics of the missing tooth area as soon as possible while ensuring a high success rate of implant restoration. Especially in the anterior teeth aesthetic area，the restoration of the soft and hard tissue contour is a key factor affecting the aesthetic effect. The choice of implant timing is crucial to whether a good soft and hard tissue contour can be obtained. Scholars at home and abroad have reported on the timing of implant placement. There is a number of research results，but with different views. This article makes a review on the choice of implant timing in the anterior aesthetic area.
