Abstract:

Regenerative endodontic treatment（RET），also known as dental pulp revascularization，is a new alternative treatment for immature teeth with infected pulps. Dental stem cells is one of the three elements of tissue regeneration in RET. Inflammatory cytokines disturb micro-environment homeostasis in the root canal，resulting in impaired function of dental stem cells. Root canal disinfection as the primary step controls infection and forms micro-environment which maintains stem cell function. However，the effect of intracanal medicaments on stem cells should not be ignored. In this review，we discuss current advances in the effect of intracanal medicaments on dental stem cells.
