Abstract:Clinical pathology data indicated that fallopian tube infection factors may be related with the fallopian tube carcinoma and ovarian cancer, but there are not exact conclusion. Recent years, due to the theory of ovarian cancer originating from fallopian tubes, much more attention are paid to the value of prophylactic salpingectomy on the carcinogenesis of fallopian tube cancer/ovarian cancer. Current studies show that prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomy has effect on reducing the risk of ovarian cancer in BRCA1/2 gene mutation carriers, but whether this kind of treatment could reduce the risk of sporadic ovarian cancer or not, more researches need to be done. At the same time, evaluation is required to make on the value of salpingectomy reducing the risk of hereditary ovarian cancer and other abdominopelvic serous carcinoma. In addition, when application of prophylactic salpingectomy, doctors should carefully assess the comprehensive situation of patients in clinical practice, balance the benefits and risks of the operation and pursue the most benefits for patients.
