Abstract: In orthodontic treatment，the movement of teeth depends on the reconstruction of alveolar bone. Studying the correlated factors of alveolar bone morphology is helpful for clinicians to understand the etiology and mechanism of malocclusion and to make personalized treatment plans. In this paper，we will review the research progress in the related factors of alveolar bone morphology，such as periodontal gingival biotype，facial pattern，anterior tooth inclination，anterior tooth crowding，age，gender，tongue volume and tongue pressure.
