Abstract: Emphasis on the prevention and treatment of postoperative complications of ventral hernia        TANG Jian-xiong. Huadong Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University，Shanghai 200040，China
Abstract    The purpose of ventral hernia surgery is to repair both the defect and function of abdominal wall. The successful operation is based on the postoperative complications reduction. The common postoperative complications of ventral hernia include recurrence，infection of operation site，seroma，spermatic cord complications，nerve complications，abdominal organ injury，intraperitoneal adhesion，mesh infection，etc. Their causes are different. Surgeons should further reduce the incidence of postoperative complications of ventral hernia by establishing technical training system，quality control system，registration system and adverse event reporting system in order to further improve the diagnosis and treatment level of hernia and abdominal wall surgery in China.
