Abstract    The R0 removal rate is the key to cure pancreatic cancer. Borderline resectable pancreatic cancer is a concept between resectable pancreatic cancer and unresectable pancreatic cancer. It has witnessed several great changes since it was born in 2001. From the pure anatomy definition to the new concept of biological and conditional definition，the concept of borderline resectable pancreatic cancer tends to be standardized，normalized and comprehensive and it is of great guiding significance to the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic cancer. With the development of imaging and the introduction of MDT，the treatment of pancreatic cancer is constantly changing from surgery first to comprehensive treatment with MDT.
