Abstract:

Abstract    Chronic pancreatitis is an irreversible inflammatory condition which is various from etiology and disease severity. Therefore, it is important to identify the etiology and staging and initiate appropriate treatment accordingly. The newly revised Clinical Practice Guidelines of Chronic Pancreatitis recommended by the Japanese Society of Gastroenterology (JSGE) in 2015, were issued on January 4, 2016. These Guidelines described up-dated general principles regarding diagnosis, staging, therapy and prognosis of chronic pancreatitis, which outlined key point for general diagnosis and treatment, and thus provided evidence-based reference for decision-making.
