Abstract    Specific symptoms and signs are lacked for early pancreatic and duodenal injury. The value of various laboratory and imaging examinations are limited, resulting in difficulties for early diagnosis. To avoid further deterioration, surgeons must consider preoperative history of trauma, choose reasonable examinations, and sometimes it may be necessary to implement surgical exploration. The pancreatic and duodenal injury are often accompanied with multiple organ injuries and early diagnosis is difficult. Combining with preoperative history of trauma, symptoms and signs, under the certain circumstances, combining with the relevant examination, comprehensive judgment must be made as soon as possible. If the early diagnosis failed, laparotomy exploration may be needed for confirmative diagnosis.
