Abstract    The characteristic of early metastasis in lymph node regards pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma as one of the highest malignant tumors all over the world. Complete macroscopic tumor resection combined with standard lymphadenectomy takes survival benefit for patients who suffer pancreatic cancer in recent years. However, there is a vigorous disagreement on selecting the excision extension and lymphadenectomy between different study groups at present. Clear definition could hardly be found for the native clinicians. Hence, we summarize the definition of standard pancreatectomy, standard or extended lymphadenectomy formulated in a consensus of the International Study Group on Pancreatic Surgery.
