Abstract    Radiological reporting of the gross classification and staging contributes to the surgical plan and prognosis evaluation of the gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST). The multi-planar reconstruction images by CT and MRI facilitate the objective assessment of the GIST invasion to the surrounding organs. The combination of the morphological and functional imaging can provide potential indicators for the early evaluation and timely follow-up of the preoperative targeted therapy, guide the implementation of the diagnostic treatment, and detect the targeted therapy-related complications. The integration of the radiology multi-modalities provides valuable information for the surgical treatment of the GIST, and helps the patients achieve better treatment outcomes.
