Abstract    Current guidelines and expert consensus have little to do with inguinal hernia surgery in special situations, and the academic community is mostly based on their own experience with such situations, making it difficult to reach effective consensus. Any surgical treatment of inguinal hernia in special situations is based on clinical experience accumulated after long-term standardized guidance training, and should not blindly follow subjective imagination to improve or innovate a certain surgical technique based on a small number of cases; in addition, the continuous improvement of the hernia registration and follow-up system and quality control system for the Chinese population will effectively feedback the experience and problems in clinical work, and form effective evidence-based medical evidence by timely summarizing and using a large amount of clinical data, thus reaching a preliminary consensus on inguinal hernia surgery in special situations, which can truly benefit the majority of inguinal hernia population.
