Abstract    Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has insidious onset,rapid development and high degree of malignancy.Clinically,it is often found in the intermediate or advanced stage,and the chance of surgical treatment is lost.At present,conversion therapy for patients with intermediate or advanced stage makes unresectable HCC become resectable,which has become an important strategy and a new focus .Conversion therapy involves liver function assessment, serum tumor markers measurement, imaging examination analysis, preoperative liver volume calculation,etc.Meanwhile,individualized conversion therapy strategies should be implemented for patients with different conditions according to the response evaluation criteria in solid tumors.Therefore, it is an essential skill for hepatobiliary surgeons to understand the relevant indexes and their reference value in conversion therapy.
