Abstract:

The treatment for advanced periodontitis requires the appropriate judgement of the prognosis based on the complete evaluation of the periodontal status.The prognosis of periodontitis depends on the type of periodontitis， the destruction of periodontal tissues， the mobility of the diseased teeth， the number of the remained teeth， the removal of the local irritants， the compliance of the patient， the risk factors of the patient， the environmental factors and the systemic conditions， etc. The extraction of the hopeless teeth， fixation of the loose teeth， combined treatment of the endodontically involved teeth， as well as scaling and root planning are all indispensable for the managements of the advanced periodontitis， and also the restorative procedure is the important part of the plan.
