Abstract: Abstract：Objective To investigate the treatment for the parotid gland pleomophic adenoma. Methods Clinical data of 148 of cases parotid gland pleomophic adenoma were retrospectively analyzed，in which 88 cases treated by traditional superficial lobe parotidectomy were compared with 60 cases treated by local regional excision. Results The scars and facial deformity and temporary facial paralysis and salivary fistula and Frey’s syndromes of the cases treated by local regional excision were significantly superior to those treated by traditional parotidectomy. The local recurrence rate between the two treatments had no significant difference. Conclusions The different operation methods should be selected according to the different sides and sizes of the tumor;the parotid gland pleomophic adenoma in superficial lobe with clear limit and small size shouid be treated by local regional excision to reduce facial deformity and various kinds of complications，but those with too big size and vague limit should be done by traditional superficial lobe parotidectomy.
