Abstract:

Now days，there has been a continuous upsurge in the development of laser-based dental devices used in dentistry. Laser therapy or laser-assistant therapy may be promising new approaches in periodontal disease as “non-surgery” treatment. Laser treatments have been shown to be superior to conventional mechanical approaches with regards to easy ablation，decontamination and hemostasis，as well as less surgical and postoperative pain in soft or/and hard tissue management. This review focuses on laser devices used in periodontics and the effect on oral soft and hard tissue，sharing some new information about laser application in this area.
