Abstract:

Abstract:Objective To discuss the relationship between Dicer protein and the tumorigenesis and development of the serous ovarian cancer in order to analyze the clinical significance of the protein in ovarian cancer.Methods All samples were obtained from surgical operations in the Shengjing hospital of the China Medical University. They were divided into four groups according to their pathological patterns: (1) 120 cases were primary ovarian serous cystadenocarcinoma, which were pathologically confirmed and no treatments were given before surgery. (2) 9 cases were normal ovarian tissue. (3) 13 cases were ovarian serous cystadenoma. (4) 9 cases were ovarian borderline serous cystadenoma. Immunohistochemical staining was used to assay the differentially expressed Dicer in the four groups.Results (1) The expression level of Dicer protein decreased as the severity of the ovarian tumor increased. The decreased expression of Dicer protein between normal and serous cystadenocarcinoma groups, serous cystadenoma and serous cystadenocarcinom groups and borderline serous cystadenoma and serous cystadenocarcinom groups were validated respectively by immunohistochemical staining (?2=24.994,[WTBX]P[WTBZ]<0.01,?2=27.580,[WTBX]P[WTBZ]<0.01,?2=13.180,[WTBX]P[WTBZ]=0.01).(2) The differential expression of Dicer protein was associated with the surgical pathologic stage and histological grade of serous ovarian cancer ([WTBX]P[WTBZ]<0.05).However, it was not associated with menopause and lymph node metastasis.Conclusions The expression of Dicer is involved in the development of serous ovarian cancer, which could provide a new strategy for the diagnosis and treatment of malignant ovarian tumor. 
