Abstract:

Zirconia is a kind of material which has been widely used in dental restorations.It is mainly used for esthetic restoration of tooth or dentition defects. Compared with the conventional alloy materials， zirconia has many advantages， such as good mechanical properties， biological compatibility， aesthetic effect and nuclear magnetic resonance compatibility，which makes zirconia be accepted by doctors and patients widely. This article provides the overview of the basic properties of zirconia and clinical applications of CAD/CAM machinable zirconia in prosthetics at present in China.
