Abstract: It had been a long history for pediatric dentists to repair the defective primary teeth with full crowns. Stainless steel crowns and pre-veneered stainless steel crowns have their own defects in appearance or durability. The color of prefabricated zirconia crowns is similar to that of primary teeth，which have good chemical and thermal stability，excellent mechanical properties such as strength and toughness. They also have good biocompatibility，high success rate，and have been widely used in clinic. This article reviewed the physical characteristics，indications，contraindications，clinical treatment essentials and curative effect of prefabricated zirconia crowns.
